I just changed the tranny range sensor so my truck will allegedly shift much smoother ('92 bronco). I left it in park when I changed it, and now I can't seem to get the shifter at the steering wheel into the neutral or drive position. I can change it into park, reverse or drive by the lever on the side of the tranny. How do i get the shifter inside the truck to go into drive, etc? Isn't that how I'm gonna need to get tit properly adjusted?
Thanks,
Dan

Do you have the truck on with your foot on the brake when trying to shift the lever? If not, you won't be able to move the shifter, at least mine operates like this.
No, I don't have my foot on the brake, but I didn't think I needed to when going from reverse to neutral then to drive.
A friend said that I might need someone slightly pulling down on the shift lever inside the truck, while I'm underneath pulling on the shift cable. to overcome Some kind of a safety mechanism. I'm gonna try this and see if I get anywhere.
I just figured after I disconnected the shift cable from the lever on the tranny, that I'd be able to move the shifter freely, but I reckon it doesn't work that way.
