Hey Guys,
This morning I used my papaw's truck to haul off a load of cattle form him. It's an early 99, F250, psd, 4x4, auto bone stock. It wasnt a heavy load only 3K, but when the trans would shift the motor would rev up then shift. This happend only when the over drive was on. Also the turbo is extreamly loud. BTW He bought this truck new and it only has 38K on it. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Huck

An intermittent rise in engine RPM's at 2-3 or 3-4 shifts on certain calibrations may be caused by reduced fluid control pressure in the solenoid body. There is a new solenoid body--F81Z-7G391-CB--and a revised computer strategy to correct this. TSB#99-8-1
The turbo whistle is comparable to a 99.5+ truck with a Wicked Wheel installed. They come from the factory like that, and then in 1999.5 they redesigned the turbocharger and put in a "quieter" compressor wheel that loves to surge.
