2001 SD Grill removal
I need to remove the front grill from my 2001 SD. I need to remove the grill without breaking any of the locking pins that hold them in place. Has anyone got a step by step instuctions that I could print out for a friend of mine. I know that they are different from my 2007.

Remove the 4 or 5 screws on the top. As you look at the bottom of the grille you will see 4 or 5 clips that sit into the bulkhead. I think I used to use a flat bladed screw driver to lift the tab up and pull the grille away as I move to the other side.
Even when I didn't pull the clip out of the bulkhead, it slid off of the grille and I was able to remove it with plyers. Once I got the clip out of the bulkhead, it slid right back onto the grille.

I just took the grill off my 01 yesterday. Use a long flat head to pry up on the bottom clips. Put a towel or rag on the bumper so you don't scratch it. You may have to force the clips a little bit but they pop out pretty easy. Once the clips are out the grill comes right off. Should take you just a few minutes.

take the top screws out then pull it away from the truck on the top.... then get a long flat screwdriver and reach your arm from the top down behind the grille and just push down and out on the snaps... real easy. Plus you will not scratch up the bumper this way...
