Misc. sound
'06 V10 250 - 16000 miles
Everyone knows the snap, crackle and pop sound our exhausts make when we turn off the truck and walk away.
Problem is, truck is making this sound everytime I stop at a light, sit idle, etc... even is popping and cracking as I drive alongside a jersey-wall and the sound reflects back into the cab.
What is causing this? Do I have something that needs to be looked at?

Hello, my truck had same problem, just got it fixed, seemed to be the solution. Found the fix here:

Up top on the screen there's a Recalls/TSB section. Scroll down and I found it under my truck, which is an 06 250. When you're there, you should see the specific TSB near the bottom, just look for the matching header. I was frustrated by the same sound and techs telling me it's heating/cooling, which didn't seem right all the time while driving, so I searched around the TSB's and came across it. I printed up the TSB report, brought it to my local dealer and told them that was my problem, which they had no problem fixing with little question.

It was an easy fix, but took a couple days to get the parts in. Gotta run for now, good luck, let us know how it works for you.

Well... finally free'd up at work to where I could be without the rig for a day.
Called the dealership ahead of time, was told they would order the parts to do this exhaust TSB job. 6 hours later and after only an oil change they call to tell me they had to order the parts to do the exhaust replacement.... THANKS FORD!
Again, great truck, crappy customer service!
