wheel width
right now i have 06 super duty with 6 inch lift and 35s on 17X9 wheels. the tires are way too small i want to go bigger next time. how wide of tires can i get on 9 inch wide wheels. I heard you can only go wheel width plus 4" but i thought it was more. I want to get something a little wider (14") next time... I also can't find 17 inch rims wider than 9" for some reason... except for really expensive ones.

personally, I wouldn't do any wider than 13.5" on a 9" wide wheel... its no big deal off-road, but for a pavement pounder, the tires will "bubble out" quite a bit on the sidewalls... not to mention you probably will get some funny wear on you tires... my .02
