I just traded my 01 F250 Diesel in for an F150 Supercrew 6.5' bed 4x4. Im sure this was asked a million times but what kind of gas mileage should I typically expect (stock) or total miles on a full tank (27 gallon). Also, what are the hottest new tips on improving the mileage. I knew what I had to do for the diesel, but this is a new world for me.
Thanks Chris
On my truck I was getting 10 if I was lucky for the first 1500 miles, my computer says 11.2 now, but my last fill up came out to 13 by hand. I think things are starting to break in. I do a lot of city driving and live on a steep hill. On the hwy I got it up to 16 with the computer. I get about 300 miles to a tank.

Sounds like me. I have an '07 FX4 Screw and last tank I hand calculated to be 12.5. Do the numbers tend to get a little better once the engine breaks in?
I have 24000 miles on mine but I can't recall it ever getting less than 15, even
new. My computer is reading 17.0 but I always hand calculate it. It was in the
low 16's but I think the summer blend of fuel gives better mileage.
I have 1100 miles on a 07 FX4 Screw 4x4 and it has been pretty consistant at 14.6 mixed driving. I haven't taken it on a trip yet so I don't know about all highway mpg. When I picked it up I drove about 275 miles of mostly 65 mph with the ocasional one stoplight town which slowed the speed to 35 and it got 16.5 on the first tank.

We’ll see, I think it’s too soon to be back on summer fuel, but you never know. I’ll probably fill up Monday or Tuesday and I’ll let you know if it’s consistent or just a fluke, the fact the computer says 11.2 is encouraging because it’d always say 10 ish. I’ve always contributed my lower then average mileage to the terrain and habits. I only fill up once every 2 weeks if I’m just going about my business, so maybe that has something to do with it.

i usually fill up once a week....most of my trips are under 15 miles one way and i'm getting 14.5 mpg.....now i drive like a grandpa...so, take that into consideration...if you get your right foot to close to the floor often your mpg will tank quick...for instance....i've gotten 110 miles to 1/2 a tank....and i've gotten 180 miles to the same 1/2 tank...
