It was a breeze for the most part. Just remember to cut the stock down pipe in front of the tranny cross member as far up as you can. The hardest part is getting the down pipe off the turbo, it will take lots of muscle. 3 hours max. I do not believe it is worth paying to get it installed.
Next few tanks more likely. I had mine on for a while now and still cant resist the urge to hammer down occasionally. especially if the is a wall nearby.
If this means anything, the first thing I have to do tomorrow AM is get fuel.
To the fellow that had trouble with the MBRP today, my truck is a CC SB (156" wheelbase), and according to the directions, I should've cut 16" off the extention (it's made for a 172" wheelbase). But before I did, I put all the pieces together under the truck, lined them up, and marked it. I think it was a bit less than 16", so I think it's best to verify before taking their word for it. Also, I reused the clamp at the turbo. With so few miles on mine, it looked almost new. In fact, I didn't even need to spray it. Came loose with a deep socket & extension, and I used my hand instead of the wrench to loosen it after it broke free.
Well I finally got my exhaust system installed last week. I haven't noticed any change in fuel mileage yet. It has a deeper sound than the factory system. I did notice my rpm's are a little lower when running at average speed to work. So hopefully my milage will get a little better as long as I can keep my lead foot out of it. Thanks for all of the info.
Well now that I have had my exhaust on for a while I have noticed about 1 mpg better ( that is if I keep my foot out of it) So with an Air intake mod an an exhaust upgrade I have gained about 1-2 mpg. What should I do next?
