I had the intake manifold changed on my 97' Town Car the dealer has failed to clear the spark plug wells of coolant and the engine is missing badly. There fix is to drive it and will clear its self. I am afraid this will damage the engine. Please how do I get the coolant out of the well's. This is my daily driver and the car must run. Thanks guys
It seems as though once a coil gets shorted, it has to be replaced. I had a similar miss, COP on cylinder #6 was bright orange from corosion. I replaced all 8 coils and plugs and now she runs like a champ and is getting decent mileage.
I got fed up with calling the lincoln dealer that did the work and telling me that they coulndt look at it untill monday. I took the problem into my own hands. 1 new spark plug and 10 mins later problem solved. Now I can call them back and tell them that they are stupid for not cleaning out the spark plug wells.
Good, another thing to do is pack the connector full of dielectric grease. I used an aerosal can when doing mine, I shot it the boot until it squirt back out. Hopefull when I put the boot on the plug, it pushed out and coated the bottom of the connector.
I have seen this one twice before these do not have cops they have coil packs and wires the boots get bad they short out the side to the casting. changing wires fixed the two different cars I that had come in with this miss.
