Bed extender work with fiberg. cap/bedliner ?

Will the bed extender in a supercrew still flip with a fiberglass cap and/or drop in bed liner ? 2 dealers could not answer this for me. I would like to know before I order either. If you have any experience with either and it does or does not work please let me know the make and model you have. Thanks

ill tell you what..... if it doesnt work for you, then i will buy the extender from you. ive been thinking about one for my 06 screw. but, if i had to guess, i would say that with a fiberglass canopy, it may want to hit on the struts for the rear opening..... and with a drop in bed liner, i wouldnt think it would bother anything..... but dont take it to the bank. it may just depend on which brands you choose for each product... they all have their own little "curves" and "shapes".

Had the bed extender in my 05 screw. When I installed the ford drop-in plastic protector, I just had to drill out the holes for the extender pins. Worked great.

Thanks , I already ordered, it on my KR, then decided to get a cap. I found out that it won't "flip" with any cap, but I can still use it if I pop it in and out.

works ok with the Advance aluminum cover, but you have to open the back half-door first, and can close it again of top of your load if you wish with the extender in the extended position...just did this with a mattress and spring box set.

Yellowboy,
It does flip with a cap. Do it all the time. Extender works real good if you have long boards in the back of your truck. Easy to tie down.

I guess I'll find out. My KRanch is due in May 1, and I'm getting a cab high Jeraco Cap. The extender only cost me $ 162.00, but the cap dealer said it would probably not work with any cap mainly because of the window struts. I'll see. Thanks

I have an ARE-Z series that is cab high and the extender works perfectly. I also have the bed rug that matches the inside of the cap and the extender hinges with no problems. I just measured from the bed to the caps lowest part which is the hinges, and it measured 35.5". There is about 1" to 2" clearence. Hope it helps.Oh by the way, the extender when standing upright on the floor is 30.5".

Thanks for the dimensions. I'll use them to check the caps before I order one. Leaning towards the cab high jeraco.
