Why not ask Mom to go? Think you could handle it? Any quick stops along the way
she might enjoy. I know your 17 and maybe Mom is not the coolest but I bet if she goes both you and her will always remember the trip to Smokin....And she'd probably
meet some nice Moms at the event. Im feeling fuzzy already. Sell her on the time you'll spend with each other. The clock is ticking. Dont wish you had when your 40
or 50 or 60.. Good Bless and have a Smokin time.
Did your mom ever read all this? If not, tell her she should take the time to read what a bunch of older folks think about the job she did raising you.
People need "validation" like this.
Of course, at the end, she'll cry... But they'll be GOOD tears!
To quote from an old TV ad from decades ago, "Mothers are like that. Ya, they are!"
No she didn't read all of it, but i tried to get her to. She read the first 5 or 10 replies and started tearing up and left. I want her to read it all but i dont want to nag her to read it, know what i mean?
WOW! I go camping for a few days and suddenly the 6.4L shoots fire and now this. I'm very happy you got Mom's seal of approval. You have my number, so when you get to Gatlenburg give us a call. Also, if you run into a brick wall as far as lodging goes while your there, let me know.
On a side note, it is simply amazing the number of guys throwing out great advise on your behalf! Gotta love this forum.
I had no doubt. Been following the thread Kris but really had nothing to add to what had already been said about your character. I only wish that I had been as responsible with some of my ventures as you when that age.
Take your Mom. She might really enjoy a road trip with her son. You and her will always remember the trip to Smokin. She will understand a good road trip and probably encourage more in the future. Plus she'll make sure your well fed and
with the $ you save get her a suvenior.
Hey heres an idea. Can anyone put this kid and his mom up for the night?
Sorry, *Rice*, no she cannot go. She wouldnt have a problem with the trip if she could go and be with me. She can't justify taking that long off work, and she and dad apparently had a talk... So now she is letting me go by her grace.
Good to hear Kris. BTW, things are looking better for me to be able to meet up with you on the night of the 17th and head down on the 18th. It's not a definite yet, but looking better. Tenn, I hope if I can make it, you are still planning to go...I'd like to meet you, as well as spend some time with Kris and see the BTS crew again.
