remote entry
Hello all,
Got a ? bout the remote for the keyless entry.Bought a used '03 Expedition a few months back.It only came with one remote.The one that came with it kinda acts weird.It seems that sometimes,when you just get close to the truck,the locks start going off and the horn beeps a few times.Then when you do push the lock or unlock button,either nothin happens or it sounds like the locks may be tryin to function but doesn't.
Anyone got any ideas? Would buying new remotes solve this?
Also,there is a toggle switch kinda beneath the steering wheel and just a tad to the right.Could that have anything to do with it?I have no idea what it is for.

Is this a factory remote? The switch under the dash could be for anything including an aftermarket remote start or keyless entry system. You could follow the wiring from the switch. I would check or replace the battery in the remote and maybe even reprogram it. Also check for stuck buttons.
