new tires

just went to the store the other day and made my second biggest purchase involving the truck. picked up a new set of 36x14.50x16 tsl radials and a set of 16x10 american eagle 589s. i was originally wanting a set of 38.5 inch ground hawgs, but decided against it as the 16.5 inch rim seems to be getting harder to find tires for and i'd like to be able to air down. the 36s should leave me plenty of room to work with, i wanted the 38.5s, but figured that would have gotten me too close for comfort to rubbing stuff up. up next will be putting on a passenger rotor, put my dash together, put the driver door on, bolt the bed down, and a set of headers through cherrybombs. looks like i've got about 2 days worh of work once i get my parts in and the truck will be driving. sorry for the length of this, but i'm getting a little excited. been awhile since this has been on the road.

awesome man! thats what i like to hear.

how are the 16.5's gettin hard to buy for? all the big name tire brands keep on making 16.5 tires. also if you TRULY wanted to air down you would get the 16.5's and then some double beadlocks from staz

38.5" ground hawgs measure out to about 36"

16.5s arent as common as the 16. i know all the main manufacturers make them, i just try to keep things easy. i would enjoy the beadlocks, but my budget isn't sky high with the house payment now. the plan always was get a good job and get the truck finished. got a good job, got a house, and the truck is still sitting around.

The only thing I can find in a 16.5 tire any more is an aggressive mud tire. Over the last couple of years, the tire manufacturers have been slowly phasing out 16.5 tires.
