My Garmin 360 is great but may be more than what you are looking for. Have you looked at the Lorance's? Price looks pretty good. I hear the Pioneer and Megelen maps aren't as good as the Garmin's.
Real pleased with my Garmin Nuvi 360. It is Easier to use than the built in Nav in my wifes Armada. Best Buy has it on sale for $499 Sometimes you are better off spending a little more for a good unit since you'll have it for several years.
I got a TomTom 910. Out of the box, well it was ok. I got the free map upgrade disk from TomTom earlier this year, and now it ROCKS. It's indenspisible for getting me to jobs in out of the way places, as well as stores, resturants, post offices etc in places I've never been before. DEFINATELY would get another one if this one craps out.
