I have a 03 f250 crewcab and i am almost done with my car computer project, i built a center console from the dash to the rear seat that holds a 15" monitor and 2-15" mtx 9500 subs. The 15" monitor is fine for the front passengers but the rear can't see it. I am looking to put in 2 headrest monitors in the seats for the rear. First, were can i get some cheap monitors? I will not be sitting back there so just want something cheap, don't want junk but something cheap for the people in back. Also i have a one piece seat, no adjustable head rest that is leather. Does anyone have any good tips or how to articles on installing these? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
found some on ebay. Can anyone give any advice on the install. I can handle all the wiring but never cut into a leather seat that is one piece, headrest doesn't move up and down? Thanks for any advice.
Sorry I cant say because I have never done monitors in that vehicle. However they do make headrests that match the OEM shape and color with a prefabercated spot for a monitor. You can even buy some headrests with monitors already installed in them.
I would love to just replace the headrest but i can't because i have a 1 piece seat, no adjustable headrest. leather from the top to bottom. It's a lariet package. My only option is to cut into the leather myself. Anyone have a write up on headrest monitor installs? thanks
I'm eventually planning on putting headrest monitors in my truck too ponch, but I am having the same reservations. It's really hard to convince yourself to cut into that leather (especially for me since my truck is only 3 months old). If I happen to do this soon I will try to take a bunch of pics and do a short write-up, if you do it first could you try to do the same for me?
I found some write ups at www.mp3car.com. I did alot of searching in that forum and will do some more. It's a start but if anyone has any helpful tips please share. Thanks
I picked up my 08 SD 6.4D today and I am putting the Kenwood in dash and monitors in headrest tomorrow. The Lariat has one piece seats so I will be cutting the leather and putting them. I will try and post some pics. -Tomorrow.
