Sorry guys (& gals) I've beening searching for two hours trying to answer a question I had on tire choices. I'm trying to fit the largest tire WITHOUT a leveling kit. I will be purchasing aftermarket wheels, probably the Moto Metal Blacks 18X9. I would like to put BFG's, but can not decide between the 305/65/18 or 285/65/18. Will both of these rub without a lift or leveling kit?
Such a question has been asked and answered (somewhat) time and time again. Make sure you're searching in this specific forum ... words like BIGGEST, LARGEST, LEVELING, TIRES, etc. Past that, I don't really know. Do you have a 4x2 or 4x4? It makes a difference.
Assuming you are talking about the Moto Metal 951 you will have a -12mm offset and 4.5" of backspace. Ths will stick out 2.4 inches with 285/65/18, and 2.8 inches with 305/6/18 further than OEM. You will be clear on the inside, but might cause some rub on the outside at full turn. Your height should not be a problem.
