Hello, when i bought my truck it had the ford AIC Installed. IT didnt come with a manual. Mine doesn't have The PTO button on it either. It has never showed me my RPM's or my Voltage. It always just has a zero on it, but it will High idle. I was wondering if it is not wired right or what the problem with it is? Any Info would help.Expecially wiring info or pictures.
What year is your truck? When I have my digital aic in my early-97 crew cab the display will only say 0, but when it's in my late-97 ex cab it works just fine. I was told it was something missing in the PCM.....and a chip would connect the circut... But I don't know for sure, it's just what I was told
You can find quite a few on ebay from time to time, you defintately don't want to go to Ford. Last time I called for a quote they were almost $1800 (if the parts guy was reading it right). I paid $160 including shipping for my digital, and $70 including digital for my blank. Both were NIB.
If I'm remebering correctly any chip will finish the circut, but it's been a few years since I asked.
I have one on a 96, and it works fine, so I don't think the year has anything to do with it. They should work with all 94-1/2 and up trucks. As for the wiring, it's pretty hard to go wrong. It plugs into the exisiting harness, and that's it!
