thats good though man, your learning early, and you've got your head on right, im sure you will go far
we are also doing a kind of group build at Fom's place. Sk51 is owned by Snowking but so far i think most of us have put a little sweat into her. But thats Snows baby nad ill let him tell ya all about it. There Fom's 56 build too, I suppose, lol (theres my recruitment pitch Fom)
inverter my friend, smallish package, heavy duty stick, wirefeed, both smooth and dual shield, DC tig (no aluminum tig) spool gun, arc gouge with it
thats what im getting eventually...........one day.
Just looking at the Miller site and their smallest muti-welder is the Shopmaster DX and retails for $3500. Maybe I should just buy my dad's old Forney arc and then just buy a good mig.
Although it would be nice to put the miller in the corner and have the control box on the welding table but this way I could give the old Forney a blue paint job!
It's pretty hard to remote control an arc welder when the amperage is set by plugging the cables in the desired range on the front.
It's been a good welder. It's a Forney C6 220 amp A/C ARC welder and was most likely built in the 60's. Probably has 1-2" of dirt inside plus some misc bolts and nuts. The carbon torch needs work and don't know if the built in battery charger works as we have never used it.
i owuld be very intrested.
next time you guys need a hand let me know, younggun.marshall@hotmail.com, or if oyu want i can Pm you my phone number!
It sounds like this Saturday 9:30am at Fom's yard we'll be goin on the 1951 again. hopefully Fom can PM you directions and his number. Usually the way he does it.
