Need mechanic's help.
I have bought an EGR valve for my 95 Explorer, 4.0 V6 and I need to know what wrench I need to get that nut off. Someone told me it's 1 1/8 inch. A straight wrench doesn't seem to grab the nut. Any suggestions? Would it be cheaper to bring it to a shop than to by some special wrench?

What exactly would be the worst thing that could happen(symptoms) if I have a bad EGR system/valve???? I had a check engine light on and I brought it in to a mechanic and they replaced the egr and the light went off, but now it runs rougher and gets poorer mpg. Can someone explain this to me>>?????

I was told the computer will take ~500 driving miles to get acquainted with new hardware (valve, sensors etc) and is not something you'd notice immediately. I'm not sure if this is true, as this is my current status with clearing P0171 and P0174 Error codes from my vehicle.
