AE Data results retrieval

For those that have the AE software, how long did it take to get the data results? I did the cyclinder contribution test, click on the results tab and have yet to see anything, that was 6 minutes ago. Also, is there a specific way to do the buzz test? will it do the buzz test? I just started playing with it some. Any advice?

What was the sequence you went through to run the test? Maybe I am doing something wrong to prevent it from pulling the data.

From my understanding of the software, it will only give you results is something is out of spec. I don't know the exact number, maybe like 4%. Ask Alan. Anyway, When I did it, I only got results in the test window and it said something like "Test completed sucessfully". The Buzz test is KOEO (KEY ON Engine OFF), you run the test and listen to your injectors, there are no data results. Basically you must crawl under the hood and listen. You should hear all of them go on (sounds like and soleniod acuating very fast). Then each one should go off in order 1-8. Remember that you cyclinder order is not exactly logical. I forget the order but if you check on here I'm sure you could find it. Let me know if this helps.

Its 5%, but if no faults are found, it will see test completed successfuly.

Ah, I see, so is it safe to say that the cylinder contribution is in spec if it doesn't give a read out? Also, how long does it normally take to start the buzz test from when you hit initiate?

Within 5 seconds it should start. The CCT should show in the end test complelted sucessfully if it did not find a fault. If it doesnt say anything then something isnt right. You can also look at Change Rotational Velocity for each cylinder in live pids. It will show a percentage which tells you how good they are firing at idle, the lower the number, the better, anything over 5% = bad injector.

Correction anything over 5% means there is a problem with that injector.

I do have the "test completed succesfully" so I am good to go there. It must be the rotational velocity that I have seen someone posting before. On the buzz test. I clicked start, and nothing happened for at least 2 or 3 minutes. I will have to play with it some more tomorrow as it is now really dark. I have heard a buzz test before so would definately recognize it. Just curious to listen to it run.

You have your key on engine off when doing the buzz test right? Change rotational velocity is better to see how each injector is working compared to the others. Like mentioed anything over 5% is bad. ITP diesel has a good forum just for AE.

The CCT will not return any results unless there is a problem, all it will say is test completed. Make sure the engine is fully warmed up and for best results on an auto put it in drive, or manual in neutral with clutch out, with parking brake set. The truck must remain at idle during the test. I agree with ponch I much prefer looking at the PID on the live data screen

I also check mine on the live data screen. You can monitor each cylinder individually.
