i have been looking at tubos for my truck it is a 86 f-250 4x4 4 speed witn 4.10 gears and 285/75r16 tires. i was hauling gravel the other day and decicided that i need a little more power. i hit the scales and was surprised at what i weighed i normally don't tow this much weight. it was 23,500 it was slow but still ran at 50mph. after that it was scary. so i looked at hypermax, banks, ats, are there other options and wich would be the most pleasing. thanks ahead of time
I don't do it too often, but, I do run into the 20K GCWR range with mine now and then(10,000 working weight bobcat, on a 4500 lb tag.) Good brakes on both units are an absolute must, the gears will only do so much with loads in that range.
yes i had a dump bed trailer with hyd. brakes on the trailer. i push anything i own to the limits. the truck has 96,000 miles on it. i bought it from the original owner and haven't had to do much work to it besides regular maintenance. i was looking at ats website but they didn't have any prices on there.
a couple of people told me i was crazy and that i should just paid somebody to come and dump the gravel but that gets expensive.
