hi all, I've been reading about these adapters that connects to the rear end of the 2wd transmission that then you can use the t case on it, what`s the chances of finding one? are they still about? or are they a thing of the past? what's your thoughts.....
If Mark hasn't heard of it then they probably don't exist. Isn't the 2WD vs 4WD coupler/output shaft the last part to be removed from an E4OD during a rebuild?
I know you can get transmission adapters for older automatics. Here's a supplier that's well known on the Oldsmobile forum I frequent. They provide an adapter to get rid of the antiquated Slim Jim Rotohydramatic transmission (the second worst automatic transmission in the world behind the 10R80).
What you need is a 4x4 E4OD, instead of the 2wd one you have.
Or the parts to change what you have to a 4x4 one, which would be a rear case, output shaft and I have no clue what else....

hi, that link you put up doesn`t work for me, just comes up as blank.....yes, the output shaft is the last thing to be removed and swapped for a 4x4 shaft, i have emailed them for a price but still waiting....

yes, i know what i need and i had a 4wd e4od lined up but it fell through, then, i come across this adapter whilst searching on the web, it looked like a good mod that i could attach to my 2wd e4od, i was going to swap my 2wd trans with a t19 but i have had a change of mind, looking forward i would like to keep my truck an auto, these adapters were made by a company called quigley or something like that.....if anyone had one i would buy it off of them as my 2wd e4od is a good one.
