Hi Cruzin
A friend and I set the cab onto my frame last night to trial fit my brake pedal. We estimate that we were only lifting about 80 to 100 lb. each.
Rick
one can do it with a little rigging,2 comealong's,a pully and some rope.check out my gallery and see what i did.i have to do alot by myself and sometime's you need to think a little.(ok,sometime's i have to think alot)
I jacked mine up, strapped the cab to the beam in the roof with ratchet straps and lowered the frame out from underneath it. I then set it down on a pc. of frame I had laying around and put casters on it. Easy to roll around like that. A pair of 4x4 posts would work fine too.
I used my engine hoist. I went to the local metal supplier and bought a 5 foot 3"x3" square tubing and slipped it over the existing tubing that extends from the boom. I bolted the existing tubing into the 1 ton hole. I drilled two holes in the new tubing and inserted a grade 8 bolt with chain. I then attached the chain and hook from the boom to the new chain. I also extended all four legs on the hoist as long as it allowed (to give it better load leveling and grip).
You can then use four straps, or two criss-crossed, at each corner of the cab attached to the hook to lift of the cab.
I was abled to lift everything you see on the trailer off the truck and up onto the trailer. The front cab is complete with seats and misc parts.
Had no problems doing it my way and I feel somewhat proud of it. Now, I don't need to have friends come over. I can do it myself.
Very cool panelman. I will try this out myself. Radiator arrived. Fedex bent up both outlet, radiator shop is going to fix them tomorrow.
I'm glad that you received the radiator and that it can still be fixed. You should still complain to FedEx and get some, if not all, of your money back. This is the first time that I've had FedEx damage anything that I sent. I'd expect UPS to do it, but FedEx...??
BTW, I can post more detailed pictures of my set up if any one is interested.
