Performance Problem- Help Please

My 99 Powerstroke sometimes misses, bucks, jumps soon after starting to accelerate. After about 1/4 mile it smoothes out and performs normally. It seems to only do this on startup(either warm or cold). I have changed fuel filter and Cam position sensor but still have the problem.

Any codes stored? how many miles since oil change and what type and level.

Have not checked codes yet. Engine light did not activate. Rotella 15W40, 2900 Miles.

does the tach drop when it happens like the classic CPS symptom. were all the terminals clean when you swapped it out.

Contacts were clean. I did not notice the tach, but I am sure it dropped since the truck almost stalled completely.
Does CPS problem normally throw a code?

they can but dont always trigger one (P0340, P0341, P0344)

Was that an OEM cps you replaced? I tried a carquest branded one once and it worked but through off the timing just enuff to cause problems.
