No, it should only interrupt the starter circuit. Accessories like radios, lights and fan should all work if neutral switch is bad. Have you checked the ignition switch in the steering column. Sometimes these go bad and you get nothing. Just an idea, Hope this helps,

Thanks Norm, looks like the problem is between the starter relay and the ignition switch. Unfortunatly the previous owner "farmerized" the ignition and the circuit barely follows the diagrams in Hayes. Should I tear it out and redo the entire ignition circuit or just patch it back together? I can jump it by applying 12V to the start and run wires on the brain and it will start and run (if the switch is in run). Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
I hate to say it, but IMHO you should go ahead and gut it all and replace it that way you won't have anymore problems (hopefully). Good Luck, Let us know what you do and how it works,

I had the same problem in my `89.All I did was take the neutral safety switch off the transmission, cut the plug off it,and spliced the wires direct. You have to be careful if you do this,as now truck will start in gear. Also, when mine first went out,I could start mine by jumping the solenoid with a screwdriver.
Sorry for the long reply, to start it I had to cross a 12V source with the run and start wires coming out of the ignition module. I can turn the engine over from the relay but if I don't cross the "run" wire it'll never start.
