Oh, oops I'm a supporter now, So I can say whatever I want now right??? Just kidding.... But the boys in Iraq are doing a swell job. Wish I could go witht the Marines and wipe them all out but I guess they have a problem with criminal records nowadays. And I would have been a great combat soldier. Oh well, maybe in the next life.

I am going to be getting benefits in a month or so here, it's just not cheap to put the whole family on under their plan.
I have no complaints about my income, like I said, it's sufficient, it's just the commute and some of the crap I have to deal with, being a certified welder doing carpentry and all.
If you're looking, we've got a dandy little shipyard here, Nichol's Brothers in Freeland on Holmes Harbor that might be worth checking out. They employ 100-250 shipbuilders depending on their contract load, half of them welders. Build tugs, fast-ferries, small Navy ships. Very good rep on the island, good owners and bosses. They want certified, hard-working people year-round. Whidbey is prolly about the same cost of living as down there, with half the rain. Beautiful island, lots of open space.

Currently they have four ships in various stages and are advertising for permanent positions in:

Engineering - HVAC/Piping Designer
Qualifications:
- Min 5 Yrs Marine Design Experience
- AutoCad proficient-Required
- ShipConstructor-Desirable

Engineering - Electrical
Qualifications:
- Min 5 Yrs Marine Design Experience
- AutoCad proficient-Required
- ShipConstructor-Desirable

but the grapevine says they always need steady cert'd welders.

Until the kid is born, we need to stay in Kitsap County for county-run health insurance. We're both seriously looking at a move to northern Idaho, around Sand Point sometime next summer as well. Might get bumped up a bit if I find a good job there and a decently cheap place to live.

Looking back on those years of new kids, moving often, renting and scraping dimes together it was not such a good or easy time. So how come that's the best memories? Youngdumbandfullofchowder i guess...

G'luck with a new job, the move to Idaho, and most of all the New Baby

Hope you don't leave the area, but you are the only one that knows what is right for you and your family. Remember that every time you move, you start from 'Square one'.
