Curious to know if the 3rd row seating on the "newer" explorers are functional? Wife and I just had twins and I drive an 04 f-150 and she has a 98 Sable. So, we need an upgrade and we're looking for an SUV.
Looked at Suburbans, looked at Expeditions and with gas the way it is I like the fact that the Explorer will get just a couple of more mpg's...
As always any and all replies are gratly appreciated...
thx
I remember looking at the newer Explorer before putting an aftermarket seat in my Explorer. It looked workable, though, as noted, there's room for the seat or junk, but not both. We eventually bought a Suburban, because there's room for both the family and our junk.
Buying a car is often about compromises. A little better gas mileage with less room, or more room, but lower gas mileage.
BTW, from one father of twins to another: congratulations!!! With 2 kids and one on the way, we figured two rows of seats would suffice for a long time. The unexpected "2 for 1 special" sent us scrambling to figure out what we were going to do, too.
mrshorty, all
Thx... I hear ya... twins are definitely a handful, but it's all good.... i figure the first Sunday in 2015 I'll get a good nights sleep...
The 3rd row of the Explorer is probably the way to go for me, this gas pricing is for the birds... Now, I'm gonna have to throw a basket on the trailer hitch for the stroller.
