So I would just like to hear some opinions, or facts on these two flashes for cold starts. Or which one you think is better. They have now went away with the buzz and replaced it with the inductive heating technique, because people were complaining about the buzzing. But from everything Ive heard the buzzing worked great to keep the injectors clean, and clear up rough cold starts. The inductive heating hasnt been out long enough to know any long term affects, but it seems its working for most people, for the time being. I personally jumped up and ran to my dealer to get the buzz flash before it was gone, because I didnt like how the inductive heating sounded, nor did one of our great techs. The buzzing keeps the injectors clean so they dont stick, which prolongs there life. It doesnt sound like this inductive heating will prolong or clean, just help cold starts by heating up the oil in the injector spool. Im just trying to figure out which one is really better, I could get the new one If i want, or stick with the buzzing wich seems to be working great. Techs please give your opinion if you would, and anyone else. Thanks for any replys.
Adam, I am not a tech, but for what its worth, IH is staying with the buzz flash. Ford and IH have a difference of opinion on several things on the 6.0. My opinion is that the inductive heating *could* lead to wire/termination fatigue/failure. That is my un-tech opinion. I could be totally wrong, but the buzz does not bother me at all. So I will not be rushing out to get the latest inductive heating flash.
I to am no tech but during the week there is a lot of stop and go traffic driving with the truck and i personally like the buzz flash for that reason. On the weekends though i get to manually clean them out. The sound doesnt bother me. A lot of people have asked what it is and it gives me the chance to sound smart!
My truck is not the best comparison because it still has cold running issues, but I had problems with the buzz flash, at one point the truck wouldn't even start. The inductive heat flash has been much better, and the truck now starts a little quicker and doesn't run so rough, even when really cold. Don't know why but my mileage rally jumped up after the inductive flash as well.
I used to have the extension cord out in the driveway. I have had both flashes. Hate the Buzz, love the inductive flash. Its going to snow tomorrow and its cold. I now know the truck will start with no issues in the morning. The extension cord is put away in the garage
The flash is for Injector sticktion. It doesent clean the needle and seat, it actuated the internal parts. The Buzz is not cleaning the injector.
You know, come to think about it! When I had the buzz flash I seem to remember always when getting out of the truck and walking away, I would always do look back to see if the buzz would actually stop. I hate the thought of it running the whole time I was away from the truck. I know that this probably would never happen but I would always catch myself checking anyway lol. I said in previous post that the noise didnt bother me, well maybe I was wrong about that I guess it did. Just a thought lol
