muffler delete pipe

So if I gut the catalytic converter out and just replace the muffler with a piece of exhaust tubing, this wont harm anything???? How much power will I gain and how loud will it be??? 97 7.3L PSD Thanks guys appreciate the info.

It wont hurt a thing, turbo diesels create all the backpressure they need with the turbo. It will be louder than stock, I can hear it over the engine noise with the windows up.

ok thanks. I really appreciate the info and help. Will I gain a noticable amount of power by doing this?

The only increase in power would be if your cat is plugged up. If you are worried about noise keep the stock muffler on and gut the cat. The stock muffler is a straight through design and flows very well. Banks doesnt replace it with their exhaust kit.
