From what I've seen of body lifts I wouldn't do it.They don't appear to support the sheet metal correctly and the body channels start to crack from fatigue over time.
yeah, also linkages are made to only go so far. If you do a body lift, everything is going to be that much more extended (like the steering shaft). Also, wires that might come from the body down to the frame are pulled more tight, and it might not happen the first time, but over time, getting any articulation and fun stuff that you are probably putting the lift on for will wear down everything a lot quicker than normal. Some really good polyurethane body mount bushings would be the way to go
yeah....thats what I figured....my friend said I should just do a body lift since i was gonna do mounts......but I figured that I should just leave the lifting to the suspension...yeah?
I dunno who invented the whole body lift idea, think about it.. think some more and then say, yea its pretty F'in stupid, it may be cheap, it may give you a lifted look, but i guarentee any of you put yer gf in the box and the metal under the sheet metal is gonna rip new holes in her... nuff said.
just bolt on some tires and sawzall where it hits. body lifts suck. they will rip you body and can shear the bolts. mainly when you stack hockey pucks and drill holes through them and put them on your CJ5....
