Well, I have looked at all the tuner posts and reviewed everything. I think I am going to get the AutoTap to do diagnostics and use their Sniper product to program the truck. There is allot of control and I can create my own tunes (dangerous).
The Autotaps are great for diagnostics; its what I carry with me in the truck for portable use away from the shop.
As for the Sniper, myself personally I am far from fond of them knowing how they came about and how they obtained the information and equipment they used to start the company. I think you'll find that the SCT has far more flexibility to get exactly what you are looking for in tuning and far more proven reliability, but as said before, that is purely my obviously biased opinion.
i am looking at getting a sct tommorrow for 450 dolla is that a good price and one of the better tuners for a 6.0? he said it is because it handles the trannys better than a rbp chip...what ya think.

Speaking from experience I have tried many tuners to get the power and reliability out of the 6.0. I recently got the flashpaq and wow! it really surpases anything superchips has put out in the past. I am very timid when it comes to jucing up my truck, but with the tuning capabilities this unit provides it curbed any doubt I may have had. Long story short I have large tires and a lift so my stock program does not recognize this and naturally the truck can get out of its on way. So I bought the flashpaq, set the tire size, but lef the rev limiter setting, and speed limiter settings at stock. (they are that way for a reason) I then installed the lowest tune of tow safe. (approx 69hp, 112tq) this was the perfect set up to give back what I lost and a little more. I am sure SCT based on what I have heard is just as good if not better. I just wanted to share my experience due to the lack of members letting others know how things happen without a biased opinion. Good Luck with your choice, and be careful of companies that don't stand behind thier products. From what I have heard it is hands down bewteen superchips and SCT the best tunsers for your 6.0
I have a SCT from LIPD with Matt's Street tune.
Even with atleast one bad injector this truck is unreal.
Runs smoother and much less shutter. It's really FUN
to drive this Big A Truck with some REAL MUSCLE!
I don't drive it like I stole it but roll on it when the coast is clear,
or I need to merge. If you get a chance to test his Street tune take it.
I can't wait to get my injectors fixed.
P.S. My fuel milage has not gone up yet, I see to many opportunities to merge that
were not there before.
How does the SCT work for towing and regular day-to-day driving ? My 06 f250 6.0 crew cab std bed 3.73 will remain stock other than a "tuner". I drive it every day to work and on the weekends will pull a 5-7000lb toyhauler to various motorcycle races through some mountainous territory here in the NE (central PA).
I would love to support a "local" co like LIPD. I've looked at the edge products and like the gauges portion. Does the SCT have anything similar and does it have "on-the-fly" programming and choices ???

The main benefit of daily drivability with the SCT over other products is the top-notch shifting. Good SCT tunes are far healthier for the transmission than even stock, much less some of the other fuel modules. We have over 10 different base custom files to choose from that can all be fully customized to your needs.
The Xcal2 and the Livewire do not "change on the fly" but can be changed in about 45 seconds. I think you will find that once you find the program that suits your needs the best, changes will be very infrequent.
Hey PSD 60L Fx4 I have been meaning to call you about my economy street tune. It seems to shift to overdrive to fast some times and at around 1250 rpm's or 40mph I have a shudder almost like spark-nock but not. When I step on it to accelerate it does not like to shift out of this gear untill I really stand on it, then it will buck twice and head with no trouble. I have not seen any mpg improvements but I wasn't expecting miracles for a 10500lb truck. I have had a chance to run the mild race tune some now and for anyone looking at tune I highly suggest this one. It is the only way to go if you are not hauling much weight and or drive the interstates a lot. I use it anytime I go on the interstate. I can imagine what it would be like in a 7000lb SRW 6.0. It is like a 6.0 on steriods in my heavy truck. Matt this is Ben Patoine.

Your files were some of the troublesome YJZ1/YJZ0 files that I had issues with a short time ago.
I do have a totally new set of base files that run and drive MUCH better than my previous ones. Check your email in about 5 minutes

Imo Aggressive Street is superb, both for power , economy and driveability. No more unnecessary downshifts in cruise/c driving uphill . Truly like it. <O></O>
matt whats a good one for highwat driving only at 65 mph for a whole 2,500 miles...not at once but over 8 days...like to stop every night before it gets dark
