Overhead compass/temperature display

My overhead display quit working a while back. Sometimes/usually when i start my car all the leds are illuminated so It's not a burnt out display, but if i touch the mode button the slightest bit it goes off and wont come back on at all. The reading lights work fine, but I the temperature and compass don't work. Does anyone have any ideas what might be my problem? Is the circuit board bad, or could this just be the compass or thermometer is broken and so the display doesn't display anything? Any input to troubleshooting this would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I'd suspect the switches are damaged, unfortunately I belive they are board mounted.

I got a hold of the wiring schematics for my car from www.fordcds.com and noticed one thing that could be related. For some reason the speed control servo/amplifier assembly is tied in with the microprocessor for this unit. Mine just happens to be broken thanks to the recall melting 2 of the connectors. I'm going to try and get that fixed and see if changes anything. I'll also look into the switches. I have access to an electronics lab that might be useful for that. Thanks for the input.

Well I got this thing working again. Turned out my output capacitors on my two voltage regulators had blown.

If anyone ever has this problem, message me and i'll give you more info if you need it. Or try going here...
