Western NC Sub Chapter
Western NC Sub Chapter
At our last meeting we decided to have sub chapters. I encourage all our Western NC members to have a meeting and vote in some Officers.
Pres and VP. we are also in the planning stages for a GTG in Cherokee and could use some Volunteers to help with the Planning.
The Western Chapter starts at I-77 at Statesville and goes west. have any Questions please get in touch with me (Old Tired Rebel) or NCFirefighter
Thanks,
Cliff

Cliff....Do you HAVE to be in a certain "sub" chapter according to where you live? Or can we choose which one we WANT to be in? Your dividing line has me in one by about 100 yards, but I'm closer to the other ones gtg's and such!
John you can be in any chapter you want. If you prefer to be in the Piedmont chapter or Western Chapter that is Fine. We are a State Chapter 1st and sub chapters 2nd that way everyone can be involved.
BTW let Budman and anyone else know about the changes. We would like for them to join us.

OTR - A neighbor, willing to assist in the Cherokee GTG - wha's needed ? > to blow my own whistle < Parking assignments ? events assist ? beer runs ? getting little Amy out of a tree ? Having a rain coat for Fred when he's 'done' gambling ?>
We are working on Hotels but we could use a place for everyone to Park their trucks and for the games. To be honest I never have planned anything like this. I sure could use some advice.
OTR - Not aware of the area - hotels/campgronds may need a tenative reservation some days/weeks in advance. - The local (county) 'Parks & Rec. Dept." would be an asist to locate 'playing fields'. You may be able to reserve a section of a park for a weekend event. Local businesses might donate small offerings for "promotional consideration". (try parts houses, the local Ford dealership, etc.,etc.) Talk to a local news paper or TV station "Activities Editor". My PAST experience dictates, parks reserved on a 1st-come basis, for family outings, business picnics, etc. (edit) The Parks Dept. may help you out IF they allow 'checking-out' of equipment - deposit may be required.
