Sounds like things are looking up. SAVE YOUR RECEIPT from Autozone. I had one of their radius arm bushings crack after a couple of months - just started to split in two. They'll warranty it but you'll probably need the receipt (cant remember if their computer tracks the smaller things like that under your fone #).

it is possible to do both radius arm bushings in 30 minutes total with just a 2-ton come-a-long. You don't have to drill or chisel anything. hook one end to the frame and wrap the other end around the axle housing and pull it out. then when releasing the cable use a floor jack to align the radius arm back in the bracket.

Radius arm bushing

Whoa reading this topic is very helpful. I was getting my brakes done at a Ford Dealership and they pointed out that my passenger side radius arm bushing was bad and throwing my front end alignment out. I asked them if I could see proof and they showed me it and sure enough, that bushing was very mushy and worn. They stated that it being near the exahust pipe did not help the situation despite the heat shield. I have about 85k miles on my bronco. They quoted me $600 to replace them, alignment included. I felt to see if I still had my wallet in my back pocket, I am shocked at the cost. From what I read on this board, it is not a difficult thing to do. But im still wary of attempting this project. I have changed other things before on vehicles, like alternators, radiators, water pumps. Is there any things that I need to make sure I am aware of before I even consider attempting this type of project?

That's because the dealer is quoting you a price for the time it takes to "properly" change those bushings. The proper way is to unbolt and drop the entire front axle for the side you are changing, replace the bushings, and then put it back. I bet they probably use some quick tricks to replace those bushings like we do, but their price quotes are usually flat rate quotes. You pay the quoted price whether the mechaninc take 30 minutes or 3 days to do the work.
