OBD is On Board Diagnostics. There is OBD-I 95 and older and OBD-II 96-up.
There is speed density efi and maf efi.
Speed density uses preporgrammed fuel/timing curves using the TPS, IAC, ECT MAP and O2 sensors.
MAF used all of these except the MAP sensor. The MAP sensor is used to calculate fuel mixture by engine vacuum. The MAF measures actual incoming airflow. The MAF will adapt to modifications such as better heads and larger cams where the speed density sytem will not.
The easy to do kit is about $500 from Ford racing. It consist of the MAF and housing, air intake tube for MAF, wiring and the correct ECM.
Unless you plan on installing a larger cam and or better flowing heads on it, I wouldn't worry about swapping it over. Check out http://www.fordracingparts.com for the kit. I know places like Summitracing and Jegs should carry it.
The speed density should be fine with those mods. My Mustang ran fine with bigger headers, Flowmasters and a ram air system with a K&N filter with the SD system. I later converted it to MAF because I someday plan on good heads, a healthy cam and hopefullt 347ci.
