Question Oil pressure???

I have an 88 Bronco with a 302 and recently the fan clutch came off, busted a hole in the radiator, bounced back and busted the water pump and the timing chain cover. Now, After it gets warmed up, the oil pressure drops to near nothing and the engine light comes on at an idle or in park. It does the same thing when I am slowly accelerating in overdrive. I dont think it is the actual oil pressure, i drove it from Virginia to Pennsylvania and back and it didnt knock or hesitate at all. I've replaced the oil pressure sending unit and that didnt help. I
dont know where to go from here. Please help!

Ground out the sending unit harness and makes sure the gauge is good. If so i'd try to replace the sending unit one more time to make sure you got a good one. The problem sounds more like an intermittant electrical issue to me. Check everything on the front of the engine(electrical) and make sure you don't have a wire that got cut or had the insulation scrapped off it when the fan went on it's rampage.

Did you have this problem before the fan incident?
Did the fan hit the distibutor?

I think the guage is good because it works fine when it is not in overdrive. Grounded it out anyway and it worked fine. Tried another sending unit and still no sucess. All of the electrical wires look fine, but their are so many bunched together its really hard to tell but as far as i can tell, no problems their. I agree with you, it does sound electrical, so i am not giving up on this yet...i just cant find anything. It just started happening when the fan thing happened. I dont think it hit the distributor because the fun clutch was right next to the radiator when i opened the hood. Could it have anything to do with antifreeze getting into the oil system where the timing chain cover got busted up? I changed the oil and filter when it happened but still think this might be a possibility but i am not sure.

get a mechanical oil pressure gauge. the stock ford gauges are nothing more then idiot lights and do not give accurate readings.
