I trying to find the correct name and ford part # for the sealent that's at the edge of the doors? You Know where the inner and outer seams meet? In stationed in Germany and I can't run down to NAPA, Pep Boys, or anyone else other than Ford. You would never think that you'd miss a Shucks. A supplier online would be a great help also.
Actually it's kinda stiff now, but I guess it could've been soft at one time or another. It's painted on top, underneath it's a grey colour.
Will any kind of silicone do and is there any prep work involed other than cleaning?
Seam Sealer. 3M makes differant types some stay flexable some harden. You should be able to order it thruogh the exchange system or just try out on the economy. I used to get allot of things like that out in the economy......but then again my german was pretty fair.

This is the material that i was trying to describe some time ago, still haven't found any.
Where in germany are you stationed? I lived in heidelberg for 13 years after moving there when i was 2, and we bought most of our car stuff on the economy. don't be afraid to go out and look. I looked in my enlish-german automotive dictionary, but couldnt find the german word for it. the closest i can find is "dichtmittel", which means sealing compound. good luck and have fun in germany
