went to junk yard today, look what i found
well I went to the local junk yard today for two reasons
the first was needed a wheel, just a wheel so I could have a spare for my truck.
second reason was, I paid for a brand new windsheild wiper switch from Advanced auto, and it didnt come with the **** or the nut to hol it in the dash.
well walking arounf the junk yard i found the nut I needed on one truck and walked around to see if I could find anything else, well i noticed another truck with winsheild wiper arms and blades on it, so i noted that ... noone was at the junk yard ( gone to lunch i guess so i didnt take nothing untill he got back)
I then seen the guy was back so told him I needed a 5 wheel ford rim for my truck and told him about the nut i needed and the wipers he said okay he would go get the wheel and i go get the other stuff... so I did .
well as I was getting the nut off the first truck for my windhseild wiper switch , bumped my hand on the dash pad. it was loose ... hum so I lifted up on it and it came right off, ALL the nuts were gone..woohoo No work for me to get it, its red and looks pretty darn good, so i took it back up front to see what he wanted for it... well
I got my new dash pad, a 15 inch rim,the wiper switch nut and the chrome part ( that says wiper switch on it) and the wiper arm and blade part all for
$25.00
I am happy, I was so happy to get a dash pad, I wasnt about to pay the $200-300 for a new one, this one has a small crack about in the middle and the center part where the specker goes it cracked, also a small hole, but I hope to get that stuff fixed.....
Anyone know what to fix the crack and hole with? I am thinking about using Goop, as I plan to paint this pad with some red vinal paint I have should look good anything better the the old one, I still have to I have to get a pic of the old one..I had forgot how bad it was untill I looked at it today.
ok here are the pictures.

The link shows how to repair a dash. It may be for a mopar but the same principles apply. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/h...board_rebuild/
