Well I ordered my Banks Bullet today. This is is exactly what I was looking for, just a little more power without ripping my transmission out. I will let you know how it works and the setup. Supposed to be a plug and play? Anyone else have on yet?
just got some time to get it in. Very easy install (plug and play-45 minutes). Not huge gains but in sport mode my truck kicks it onto the hiway right away. Really helps for the mid range bog that i had before. In sport mode on the hiway the throttle response is amazing. the gauge boost meter is nice to have as well. This is the perfect set up for someone looking for some more power in moderation. I love it. Any questions let me know.
I see you had your Banks Bullet installed for a few weeks now, have you seen an improvement in your fuel mileage yet? Have you towed with it at all? You say the power increases are minor, can you really feel that much difference?? Sorry about all of the questions, just thinking about purchasing the Bullet here next week and you are the only one I know who has used it.....
I love the Bullet. In sport mode there is a huge difference-adds 60hp and 100 trq (claimed). I have not noticed an increase in fuel mileage since I have been a red light racer lately but I have not seen a decrease at all. I am moving to Chicago area on friday and will be towing a small trailer, so I will know more on Monday for that.
I reccomend the Bullet and the customer service at Banks is great. ask for Mike
I put the Bullet on a buddy of mine's '03 7.3 and it definately made a difference in power. He tells me that his lie-o-meter is telling him just about 2mpg increase. He normally runs his in number 3 but has a pretty light foot. It does feel that the truck gets up to speed much quicker, which in theory less time in the throttle, you should use less fuel.

Anytime you add a chip or program... the lie ometer is completely worthless. I think I have had it say 30 or 60 mpg...
For the price you should also check this out... dp tuner. They are alot cheaper and can be custom tuned for you.
good luck,
Steven
Well it took me awhile to get settled in Illinois but I made it. First time I have towed and never knew the trailer was back there until I locked it up coming into Chicago (traffic) the trailer slide sidways and everyone cleared out from around me. Gave me more room to drive.
The trip went well and I kept the Bullet tuned into tow mode most of the way. not huge gains but I calculated my MPG average at 17.8 which is about what I was getting without the trailer in stock mode. I really like keeping an eye on the boost gauge as well, I opted out for the egt adapter due to budget but I wish I had done it. No complaints...
Glad it worked well! So are you still in one peice? Trailer sideways?? Yikes! Well my next purchase for the Ex will be the Banks Bullet, after the 8" lift and the 37's.........
You should definatly opt for an EGT gauge for your next mod...........Its a "must-have" if you are gonna tow with a tuner......plus you can make sure your turbo is cooled down enough before to turn off the truck.
DITTO on the pyro upgrade they should have it on as a standard feature as egt can skyrocket with inline fueling devices & you nor youre truck will know without it untill its too late! glad to know its working out for you & good luck in Chi-town.
Next upgrade will be the pyro attachment. I did some real world test today. Had a Civic Si pull up next to me revving his fart bomb. I tuned to sport mode and waited for green. He took me off the line and then all H3ll broke loose in my truck I sped up next to him with tires spinning on the wet pavement as the tranny shifted. He looked at me with a disgusted look and tried to keep up. He did a good job keeping in the game. Pulled up to the next light and he said, I never knew those things were so fast. I said I would have had you blown away if I was in 4 wheel drive. He agreed. I never knew there was that much potential and I know there are plenty of more power to be unleashed. I am very happy with what I have now though...Anymore and I would be in trouble
