I never liked cutting by gas tanks either, once my dad cut off the bolt that held my straps that clamp the gas tank on my 1958 International.

Go to princess auto and buy a large nut splitter and give that a try. When i remove beds at home i heat the nut cheery red then quench it with cold water and it works everytime. If you start twisting that nut off without heating it you usually screw up the square hole in the bed floor.

Thats a good idea, but they dont allow you to have torches out there. I think idfergassun said one time he snuck a propane torch in to the wreckers, and I did that too, but the little torch jsut doesnt make it hot enough!

man you guys, gas tanks arn't that bad, just make sure they are full. I have used the torche from the top and centred myself on the bolt and washed it out from on top. now that i know how to gouge i would gouge the top off and just pound it down.
