Vibration going 70 mph
I have a 1999 Explorer EB with automatic awd and a 4.0 engine. When I was driving down the highway at 70 mph(its not speeding unless you get caught) I could feel vibration where my foot was resting. There is no vibration on the steering wheel. The vibration only happens when going 70 mph. Would appreciate any suggestions other than slow down.

Do you have a wheel out of balance? Driveshaft out of balance? How do the ball joints and u-joints look?

you are speeding in most places doing 70 mph, caught or not.
bad belt in tire, uder inflation, worn sidewall from hitting something on road, out of balance tire.

not over 70 mph though.
when close to cities in ohio it is 60 or 65 until in the middle of nowhere.
some freeways in la, downtown are posted at 45.

only 10 states, in rural areas, allow 75 and in one of those, texas, only during the day.

You mean vibration at 65-70 mph isn't "as designed?" :-0

Actually, the lack of vibration in the steering wheel or else where sounds suspect to me.
Most problems I have encountered with a wheel, bearing, driveline etc caused the entire frame to shake transfering the energy else where.
Maybe there is something loose on the fire wall in the area where your foot is resting that becomes unstable at that speed?

To check if the vibration is your tires, try switching the back ones to the front.
