VIN-number location

VIN-number location

I own a 1979 bronco but it does not have the original engine in it. The engine was upgraded to a 460 big block and i dont know what year or what the engine came out of. I was wondering if anyone knows where i can locate the VIN number so i can figure it out. I've looked all over the engine and cant seem to find it anywhere.

VIN-number location

Near the latch on the driver's door,top of the frame rail on the right side just between the rad and the firewall.

VIN-number location

Are you looking for the engine ID or vehicle (VIN)ID? Dennis gave the VIN location and the engine ID for a 460 is on the block right above the starter. Look for four primary letters such as DOVE.
