Engine and transmission
Howdy Everyone, Got a couple of questions for you Bronco buffs. Just got my 85 recently, it was wrecked and restored (to running state) , it had been sitting for atleast a year. It runs but it would take me 10 years to get the fuel injection system lined out, they guy before me did a homeade wiring job on it, every wire is green EVERY wire. I have a wrecked 84 ford f150 with a edelbrock intake and a holley 650. How much of a pain would it be to yank all the emmisions and fuel injection crap out and stick that carb and intake on there with hopes of it running? Both of them are 5.0's.
Second the ole 84 2wd has a nice little 5 speed manual. I'm a manual man, and the bronco has an automatic. I'm wonderin if the 5 speed would mount up to the tranfer case if I pull off the tail shaft? if so, would i need any adapters? or can I just stick that sucker in there in a weekend?
The tranny in the bonco is a c-4, stock transfer case, all stock, same as with the 5 speed.
And the third and final question. This bronco one of those twin I beam front end deal. Its got a wheel joint popping. I know on the older 4x's you had to yank the axle and all. My question is, is there a way to change that joint without pulling the guts from that front end?

Engine and transmission
Guess this was too many questions for one person to answer... any help would be appreciated... This fuel injection is going nuts... I just moved here so I have noone to ask, and the shop monkeys at the ford dealership I called yesterday didn't have a clue on any of the questions...:-(
Engine and transmission
I'm not an expert, but I would think that changing the fuel injection over to a carb would be pretty easy and pretty straight forward. You may have to fake out or get rid of a few sensors, but I don't think it would be too difficult.
Engine and transmission
I understand it shouldn't be too hard, Just seeing if anyone has tried it and run into any problems. The sensor and emmision problem doesn't worry me, All I have left is the 02 in the exaust, thanks to JB weld thats no problem. I'm not worried about emssions, mainly because, it has a rocks chance of floating, of passing as it is now.
I'd hate to try it and run into problems, and try to peice the immensly troubled injection back together.
Anyone else have any ideas as to the 5 speed working? I'm hoping it will, guess I'll have to give it a whack...
The wheel joint it failry important, I reckon i'll just yank the guts from it. Thanks for offering help

Nup. This one is fuel injected, and its an 85 I promise =-). I think the switch to carb should be fairly easy. Guess I'll get under the trans with a ruler and make sure the transmissions are the same size. If so i'll give it a whack. Thanks everyone.
