Help! Camper Shell Window Broken Seattle
Passenger side sliding window was broken out recently of my '00 Stockland canopy. Been calling RV repair shops, auto glass shops, etc., to get this window fixed...all I seem to get in response to my question is the "10,000 Yard stare." Oh, and of course, we'll be happy to sell you a new, custom canopy.
This is the Sebring model; window is the sliding portion (psnger side). Anyone know of a shop that fixes such things in the North of Seattle area?
Thanks a bunch!

I think the key was to minimize the amount of work they had to do. All they want to do is cut glass. What I did was remove the glass and hand it to them so they could use it as a pattern. In your case assuming the glass on either side is a mirror image of the other. I would take the good glass to them and tell them make a matching mate to it. Worst case, make a paper pattern of the glass sitting in the good side or maybe you could rough out a cardboard replica and see if it fits in the slide etc.
Key is once they know what shape to cut, it becomes almost trivial for them to make a replica.

Shops have stated that the window frame would be destroyed during removal. Others disagree. Many have said simply they will not work on camper shells.
A complicating factor may be that this window has a curve to it. They should be able to scribe the intact glass in several places and go from there.
I have more calls to make. Making a replica should be fairly routine. I'll report back on my findings.
Thanks again.

Have you tried an RV dealerhip's repair facility? They would probably be more inclined to work on it since they have experience with fiberglass and aluminum coaches and trailers.
Also you said it's curved... as in convex? I was thinking if it is flat but just has rounded corners you could go with tinted lexan or polycarbonate.
