Just wondering here,,,I have an 04' Explorer, NBX,4.6, 5 speed auto,w/3:73 gears,,man that rig runs good and fast,,,and rather good on fuel,, 16 mpg or so around town,,when the GF drives it,LOL,
Ford should make a Ranger with the 4.6L v8,4x4, S-Cab,5 speed standard,or auto,, would be so much fun and prob sell well too.
I have not driven the new explorer with the 300hp,,,,must be a fun trip if your foot is in it,,I think mine is the 239 hp version,,I think its the Romeo engine too.
So are the engine bays, frames, the same on Ranger's & Explorer's ?
They were basicly the same up to 2001, then the Explorer changed completely.
I swapped a 4.6L 32v into my '98 2WD (frame is different than a 4x4) and I can tell you it IS alot of fun. You should see the faces of the Mustang and Camaro guys when they get beat by something that looks like a fleet vehicle.
