DP Tuner and a Clutch

DP Tuner and a Clutch
Hey guys, getting ready to order my DP, ande just a quick concern I have. I just replaced my factory clutch at 164,000 miles. I'm pretty sure that my diablo tuner hammered the clutch and caused it to slip. I would get in the throttle to speed up, then push in the clucth, and the engine seemed to dump a lot of fuel all at once, and would kind of "pop". The cloud of black smoke was amazing, but it caused my clutch to slip. With a new LUK clutch, I am worried about thrashing it with the diablo, and want to switch to the DP. Will my clutch be able to take the higher hp of the DP, or am I just wasting my time. I was thinking of only going as high as 100hp on the DP anyways. What do you guys think? sorry for the length. Thanks guys!

I have no issues with the DP tunes up to 100 but that is all I have. I only have 35k miles on my truck though. When I go WOT and then let off and press in my clutch I have no pop and no smoke at all. In the 100hp tune I get a bit of smoke until the turbo kicks up tht boost. The only noise my truck makes when I press the clutch after WOT is the woosh of the turbo relieving pressure. No smoke. I love it

I love the 80 econo...throttle is perfect egt's and boost are with in reason...full WOT ill hit 1200 on the temps at 100 mph and see 25 to 27 on the boost...shifts couldn't be better nice and smooth and grabs the gears a lot better..fuel mileage seems to be better I got 17 mpg around town last summer..mods were added in october..getting 17 mpg around town with 1/2 hour warm ups each day this winter....60 tow is also a good tune for towing..shifts hold longer and lugs down better..if you get the 60 tow might's well get the 40 tow as well..will run less egt's in the big hills...

this link is to install a DP chip..scroll down a couple pic's and you will see the pcm with what looks like a bar code...that is you computer code...I pulled my PCM out of the truck to get my code..only took about 1/2 hour at most...you can try to read them with a mirror under the brake boost and between the pcm plug and the inner fender...remember you are reading backwards..reason I took the pcm out to get my codes..

I thought you had a stick ron, but it looks like you have an auto. I was wondering how the drivability was with a stick. I am sure it is better that the 85hp diablo, but I just wanted some feedback from a user. I'm sure if the drivability in an auto is good, then Jody will do the same with the stick tuning.
