the parts store should have some Fel_Pro gaskets for you..I replaced mine...theyre the kind w/shiny aluminum on one side and black non asbestos on the other...did the trick fro me
Chiltons says 96 , 5.8, exhaust manifold torque should be 18-24 ft/lbs(US) 25-32 Nm (met)
exhaust pipe to the manifold 25-35 ft/lbs.....34-48 Nm
FelPro is a good gasket too
Good Luck
My trucks 5.0 didn't have any exhaust manifold gaskets. I used some stuff in a little jar that I painted on before bolting together and then ran the engine for a few minutes after warming it up to for the stuff to set. I forget what its called. One of your local parts stores should know what it is.

Yeah, I was a little surprised myself. We have a 65 Mustang with an I6 that is soon undergoing a complete V8 conversion. We replaced the exhaust manifold gasket on it about 2 or 3 times. Then I go to remove the exhaust manifold on my truck and no gasket. At first I thought it had completely disintigrated, but that is highly unlikely. Something would be left. Has anyone else had gaskets on theirs? Anyway, I agree this site is great. I learn something new almost every time I log on.
