lol...we were at the lake of the praries last year...she hauls up 3 big walleye in a row...i'm sitting there 7 feet away from her and didn't even get a nibble. i usually outfish her in the summer though...
Best ice fishing we ever had was northeast of Yellowknife. Head up the winter road and duck off into one of the hundreds of lakes out there. Need a good sized truck or sled though. We head out early, make camp... then it's fishing and cocktails for the "day". Catch 'em, clean 'em and cook 'em. I swear all fish taste better in the north. Must be something to do with the cold water. And if you're real lucky, you can snag a 'boo for dinner. THAT's the life!
Definatly would like to see some pictures of that. What kind of boat did you buy and have for sale now?
Pics. are coming... and the boat is a Trojan F-25 with a Ford 302 Mercruiser straight-shaft. Engine has 150 hours on her! I bought her as a hull, (she lost her cabin in a fire), and was planning to put a flush deck on her with a couple pockets for my freight. All was going according to plan until I contacted Canada Transport. If I intend to use the boat for commercial use, I have to follow some "simple" guidelines. So now my $12-15,000 flush deck conversion will cost about $38,000 to meet Federal guidlines. For $45,000 I can have a brand new boat made! I'm not sure if I want to sell her or keep her though. You gotta see this hull. She's about 26' stem to stern, her bow flare is about 10 1/5' at the gunwales, tapers back to around 9 1/2 '. She's big and beamy for a little 25er. Trojan made damn fine hulls back then, actually they used this hull right up to the 32/35? boats I believe. It's 50/50. I would like to keep her and use her as a private boat to get around the rules, but I would also like some capital back to throw somewhere else.
