Bronco towing a camper

Hey got a couple of questions. I have a 95 EB Bronco 4x4, 5.8L. I am going to be installing a lift soon. I don't know if it will be going with a 4 or 6" lift and 33's or 35's. More likely 33's. I was talking to my father in law the other day and he said if I was going to tow a camper that it isn't a good idea to have it lifted and that I need to keep it stock. Now I have seen pics on these web sites of guys pulling car trailers with vehicles on them and of pulling campers. Not saying I am going to pull a 8000#, 30' camper either. I know it's a short wheel base vehicle. I think I can handle pulling a fairly nice camper with it as long as I use the stabilizer bars and such. OK! OK! to my questions...Do you think it will be ok to pull a camper as long as I don't over do it? 2. Do you guys think or know of any issues pulling a camper with the vehicle lifted??

Not too familiar with lift kits and towing - have heard though that it can get bouncy at times. Hey, what size tires you got on her now?

Not sure of the exact size but it's still stock. I will be installing the lift in the next couple of months. Going with 6" 33's.

I have a 94 bronco that has a 302 and E40D with 4inch lift and 33inch tires. i have added a K&N filter,Gibson headers,Flowmaster exhaust, and a Jet chip, when i tow my trailer with 4 ATV's, it feels like i have no power, going up hill and flooring it i can only do about 45mph, my advice to you and me is to re-gear your truck when you lift and put new tires on it.:-)

I have 33" BFG Mudders and a 3" lift. I dont have any problem towing.
Putting bigger tires and you will lose power for pulling.

I have a 1995 with a 6 inch lift, 35x12.50x15's for tires, 5.8 engine, and I have not changed the factory gears. I bought it and use it specifically for towing a 7,000 lb. 26 foot, prowler travel trailer. I went to Consumer Reports magazine and they recommended it as a top towing machine. The truck we had prior to the Bronco, just did not have enough umph to pull the trailer. The Bronco does a marvelous job. I am sure it did a better job just stock, but I have no complaints with it since I have lifted it. The one thing I will say though is, be damn sure to use anti-sway bars, when you tow. I have the Equalizer Hitch built by Linton out of Utah. After I lifted the truck I noticed that I did not seem to need much in the way of equalizing, as the back end stayed up pretty good when I placed the toung weight on it. So I thought what the heck, lets just take a drive without the bars on. WOW ! when I got to the freeway did I get a suprise. It was not just scary, it was life threatening. I put the bars on at the very first exit ramp. It has been a perfect gentleman ever since.
We have since had many wonderful miles of trailering fun. You have a great trip and enjoy your new traier. Larry

Thanks for all the input, I don't know that I will be towing alot but my father in law has the pop-up which isn't much. I figure I can tow it no problem. If I was to tow a good size camper with it lifted I had all intentions of using an equalizer while towing. Again thanks for all the input. This site rules.....
