i like the grill treatment. not so wild about the headlights, tho. prefer the ones on the cutaway in the photo gallery, but i'm sure the aftermarket will provide some options eventually...
and what's with the big red button the dash?
does it make whatever you are doing 'easy'? :-)
I went through and read that whole article. My question is are they gonna keep the 6.0L Diesel or are they gonna put the new 6.4L Diesel in them? Or is there even gonna be a Diesel option for '08?
It's a nice looking van but the inside really hasn't changed from the pics I saw. I think I'll wait for the '08 to come out before I trade my '05 in. I was looking at the E-350 extended with the Diesel in it.
No diesel, 6.4 won't fit, and who'd trust it after the failures of the 6.0, the 7.3 was produced 3 times longer than the 6 point uh oh, I see GM getting a better grip on the commercial market due to the idiocy of Ford.
All New 2008 E-series grille, headlights & front bumper is more like it. Trying to look more like a Chrysler? Cosmetically, is there anything different behind the 1st 5"? Not exactly the long awaited total redesign of Econoline. Looks like you could modify the hood & fenders on a '92 pretty easily, under a shade tree, with a bayonet saw & just bolt in the new grille, lights & bumper. Actually I prefer incremental improvements to a proven design, but face it, this looks like little more than a face lift. Rumors were that the total redesign won't come until 2010. I'm underwelmed. The '92 was a quantum leap. After 3 versions of Econoline my next van might be a Sprinter.
I'd have to see how the new Sprinter V-6 diesel works out before I consider it, the I-5 is a bit under powered, but seen a few on ebay pushing 400,000 running great just experiencing a transmission slip problem in the one with 500,000 on it.
Yea, that Sprinter's starting to look better and better all the time. With my 5.4 getting 11 mpg, I'm ready to go the diesel route.....
I've looked at the Sprinter recently (reviews that is) and one of the complaints was that qualified mechanics to work on it and the part costs were outrageous.
The cost of the Sprinter (new) is appears to about the same as the E350 however for me there is not enough seating available for the Sprinter Van for it to work for me. Sprinter Van
The MPG is better for the Sprinter Van than the E350 by about 10 mpg. However, if it matters, the speed is governed to 80 mph in the Sprinter.
Lets' take 1 of those Sprinters and put my 10,000 lbs power washing trailer behind it and see what it'll do. My E-150 pulls it alright so why wouldn't a Sprinter???
