Those are from an OWNER'S MANUAL. Others will post all kinds of crazy figures based on how much gas they could or couldn't get into the tank, or based on the claimed sizes of aftermarket tanks. With the filler necks and slope of the truck, you may get a little more or less out of each tank. When I run my tanks dry, I get about 19.6 into the front and 18 into the rear, topping off past the shut-off.
In my 94 F150 SC LB 4x4 MAF 302 .I get 245 miles on back tank after toped ( I CAN GET 16 +Gal in if dry ) off country hill driving. And have got 17 MPG on interstate trip . But had reg cab that got 19 MPG out west course never got out of overdrive.
Most of the driving around here is stop and go. A lot of traffic lights and stop signs. It really doesn't bother me because I only have a 2 mile drive to work. I have a 94 explorer that we use for family trips and stuff...and that has a 4.0L V6....so its not too bad on gas.
